About Ruby

I am passionate about the power of mindfulness and self-compassion to help us cultivate resilience.

Nice to meet you. I'm Ruby (she/her). I am a Registered Occupational Therapist, meditation teacher, small business owner, mom of 2 kiddos + 1 canine, nature lover, very beginner guitarist, and aspiring book worm. (Currently reading: Losing Eden by Lucy Jones, and Mindfulness: A practical guide to awakening, by Joseph Goldstein).

I offer individual counselling to help with a range of challenges, in addition to courses and individual coaching on mindfulness and meditation. I am continually engaged in mental health education and psychotherapy supervision, and it's my great honour to be let in your world to offer support.

I am also the founder and director of Union Yoga + Wellness in Toronto, and work part-time with survivors of motor vehicle accidents to facilitate their mental, physical, and emotional recovery.

Meditation

I have had a formal meditation practice for over 10 years. It all started with this book (thanks, mom!).

As long time student of Buddhist meditation and psychology in the Theravada tradition, I attend regular silent retreats of 5 to 10 days to maintain and deepen my practice. I feel fortunate to have practiced and studied with renowned teachers including Joseph Goldstein,  Kamala Masters, DaRa Williams, Pascal Auclair, Guy and Sally Armstrong, Darryl Lynn Ross, Jill Davey, and Dawn Mauricio.

In 2022 completed a 2-year Community Dharma Leader Mentorship program offered by True North Insight.  I am currently participating in Spirit Rock Meditation Center's LEAP program (formerly Advanced Practioner's Program).
